Need advice for small land development company!!
I’m a lead equipment Operator for a small local company that does septic install, land clearing, final grade work. We have 2 lead operators, we each have a helper, a dump truck driver, and our foreman. We only have one tri axle dump truck and our driver quit. I’m the only other guy with a class A CDL and now I’m in charge of delivering the best fill dirt and sand to our grading jobs. I’m only 26 ( only had my CDL for a year) and haven’t ever had the responsibility of finding the nearest quarry’s or pits and making the most profit and finding the best quality material to pass inspection. How can I find connections? What do I look for regarding the material to help with passing our inspections? On the plus side, I’m a final grade operator so I have a preference and good eye on what to look for. I just don’t know how to go about planning my routes for our jobs. I’m located in SWFL Thanks!!!!
