Today I was taking a pause and reflecting back on myself. I have worked in digital marketing through freelancing and built startup in last 3 years but still unable to deliver the results.

Also I don't know a lot of marketing stacks and skills like Account Marketing, LinkedIn Ads, Advanced Google Ads, Conversion Setup, Marketing AutoMation, MIS Dashboards, Marketing analytics dashboards, building GTM Strategy for a brand, building marketing plans and social media calendar, and even though sometimes with Marketing Audit of a brand with all the Marketing and tracking parameters. Also I haven't worked on e-commerce or built my YouTube channel yet to build any content.

But now I am struck, learning them from basic like a beginner and working in an agency while doing freelancing is not possible for me, because i thought why I spent those 3-4 years doing that random stuff in marketing and digital marketing per say.

Dear Marketing community, let me know if you have faced the same, I have written it with a lot of courage, so I want genuine replies from you guys. Also help me to reset in this year and get back to the level where I can truly deliver like a 4-year experienced marketing. I have done enough mistakes, I don't want to do more now due to negligence.

I am looking to work in the marketing space, so I want to know which type of skills currently recruiters are looking for in a tier - 1 or tier - 2 marketing agencies.

Also help me understand if the Udemy courses have any value as such in our CV. And how to increase the Value of Udemy courses if I am looking for marketing roles?

Also does data analytics courses of skills like Power BI, Advanced Excel and Tablueu really helps in adding the value or increasing chances?

I’ve been noticing something weird while helping friends apply for jobs.

Almost every resume now looks perfect. Perfect formatting. Perfect bullet points. Perfect keywords.

And somehow… they all look the same. Because everyone is using AI.

The problem is recruiters are starting to notice it too.

A hiring manager I spoke with recently told me that when they open a resume now, they can almost immediately tell if it’s AI-written. The language feels generic, achievements sound inflated, and the personality is completely gone.

Ironically, the tool that was supposed to help candidates stand out might actually be making everyone blend together.

Imagine reading 200 resumes that all say things like:

• “Results-driven professional with a passion for innovation”

• “Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration”

• “Dynamic leader with strategic vision”

After the 10th one it becomes meaningless.

Now I’m wondering if we’re about to see a strange shift where simple, slightly imperfect, human-written resumes actually perform better.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Especially recruiters or hiring managers — are AI resumes becoming obvious to you? Or am I overthinking this?

Curious to hear what people here are seeing. Share your thoughts...

I have crafted this new resume based on the knowledge I have till now about resumes and CVs but still not getting shortlisted through this piece of paper. I am open to suggestions what changes should I do in order to increase my chances of getting shortlisted for MBA based marketing roles or account executive role in a reputed marketing agency like Denstu, DBB mudra group, WPP, Ogilvy, etc.
