I’ll preface this to say I’ve been “under investigation” for endo for several years after having severe pain with periods and heavy bleeding since I was in my early teens. Only really started looking into endo after I had an ectopic pregnancy that required surgery and my OBGYN at the time took photos of what she thought might have been endo lesions, but she was not a specialist and not trained in excision. Fast forward 6 years, pain has gotten worse and is not managed for longer than a month with hormonal contraceptives. I’ve long experienced GI symptoms with my periods but over the last few months, started having pretty substantial rectal bleeding only during periods. My ultrasounds have always been clear but they did another one and these were the findings. Doesn’t seem characteristic of endo but wondering if anyone who’s had bowel involvement had anything similar show up on imaging?
US report said: There are several multiple small unilocular cystic structures with "ground glass" internal echoes seen in the lumen of the rectal sigmoid colon (4 in total) surrounded by bowel
contents, all measure less than 10 mm. Unclear etiology, this is not typical appearance of bowel deep endometriosis.
