Like a tropical cyclone needs a temperature of 26.5°C or above to form. I wonder about the ITCZ itself or it just follows where the areas are the warmest.

Been thinking about this. The downdraft doesn’t immediately become dry when it starts descending; it’s still saturated within the cloud.
