Started flaring just shy of two months ago with blood and no other symptoms such as stomach pain, fatigue etc. Carried on working and exercising as it was keeping me feeling positive and was able to eat the same things, as I generally keep my diet the same due to this condition. I’ve been off work since last Monday as I had to leave on that day due to 4 movements in the morning all of which extremely painful, bloody and the stomach pain became unbearable. Spoke with the IBD team as they only work 3 days a week on Wednesday last week and they advised that I start taking 4800mg of mezalazine a day which is double my usual dose. Since then been through a whirlwind each day even up to this morning of not being able to pass anything, heavy pain and loads of fatigue. As the days gone on I feel so much more myself and even able to pass stool this morning. Am I stupid to think I should go back in tomorrow and try to get on with life or do I give myself more time as this condition can vary from day to day (in my experience since being diagnosed). For context I work in a SEND secondary school and my role deals with a lot of behaviours which can be quite stressful at times. I just hate the thought of being off even though I feel like I could work, however this could just be because I’m not working and today’s the first day I’ve got energy again. I know we’re all not medical professionals In the room but with it being a bank holiday I haven’t got options to communicate with those till tomorrow.

Thanks guys and apologies for the essay 😂
