So originally i always wanted a pond. Don't know why, just think it would be comforting to look at. So last year i got this house on a pretty big lot (6000m2) and finally have room for a pond. So what i don't want to end up with, is a dirty smelly pond the next year, also don't really want to maintain it too much.

So started searching for someone to make it for me. My original budget was around 7000 eur, apparently this only leads me to get someone to dig a hole, put a membrane in and fill it with water. So tried to find someone with more experience, and now its getting slightly out of control lol.

I found a newly started company that makes just this. So because of my laziness to have it pretty much running by it self, it also will double as a swimming pond because the water should be so clear/clean. They are adding a floating surface skimmer (Oase 250), superflow ecoflow 30000l pump, uv lights, for 10k stones, waterfall, thick membrane, plants and on and on and on. So i don't know what happend to the budget, but now we are at 34k eur, but they give me a discount because they just started and will use it for reference, so total should be 25000eur. Of course this is over my budget, but it's also somewhat nicer than what i originally had planned lol. And at the same time, swimming ponds like this usually costs around 150-200k eur here (there is pretty much only one company doing it), so it seems pretty cheap.

Aaanyway, i am having a very hard time figirung out the design and layout for my lot. It opens up to fields with unabstructed views all the way. At the sam time i would like it to be pretty close to the terrace, so it can be enjoyed from under the large patio in front, and also from the big windows in my dining room inside.

The last 2 pictures are (obviesly) AI generated pictures the company sent me, except the stones will be bigger, and other stuff, AI is pretty bad at making design ideas like this.

At the other hand, i also don't want this to be a complete focus point, taking away the (imo) nice view i have to the nature. I live in Denmark. How would you go about designing this? It will be around 80m2 for the swimming lake and then ~10-15m2 for the waterfall and small pathways. This mostly because i have to keep everything below 100m2 because of zoneing laws. Also do you think something should be noted to the setup in general? I have no idea about what works and what doesnt, and this is a new company, so they dont have any revieews, but they have worked as landscaper and doing work at some of the biggest aquariums and aqua museums in the country.
