So to start off I’m completely new to drumming (no kit only practice pad and sticks) and I’m trying to self teach a bit I hear a certain sound or see it in the way a drummer moves in some songs and I don’t know what it’s called or how to do it. I think it’s a RRL pattern but the L note is very exaggerated like when I see it the R is like a normal double stroke and then the L the raise the stick higher for the hit giving it a kinda fast triple sound idk really how to explain it I usually hear or see it on the cymbals/hi hats and from what I’ve seen I usually see it in a mix of jazz and rock/metal I know this is probably not a good post but I’m honestly curious about it cause I love the sound of it and if anyone can answer or enlighten me in the ways of drumming it would be greatly appreciated
