Hi, I have a very old laptop with an i3 5005U (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.0 GHz — no idea if overclocking is even possible), integrated graphics, 8 GB of RAM, and a 250 GB SSD (I had to use it recently and felt like I was going to lose it waiting 5 minutes every time it booted up).
I’m planning to give it a second life and turn it into a gaming station to connect to a TV with a Bluetooth Joysticks.
I’m completely inexperienced when it comes to emulation, so my question is: what could I realistically do with it? Is there any platform you would recommend?
Ideally, I’d like to use Linux to avoid unnecessary OS resource usage. If Windows is needed, I’d install something like MiniOS to avoid wasting the limited performance on unnecessary background processes (that’s what I’d prefer, but since I don’t know much about emulation, I’ll follow your suggestions).
