Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a car and I’m torn between two options:

• Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 Hybrid Lounge AWD-i 116 hp e-CVT (2023, around 33,000 km)
• Jeep Avenger 1.2 MHEV Summit 110 hp DCT (2024, around 5,000 km)

I live in Turin, so I deal with a fair amount of traffic and not much parking. I have a dog and I’m planning to have a family, so I need something with decent space. Also, about once every 4–5 weeks I do a trip of around 250 km each way.

I used to have a Nissan Juke N-Connecta and it worked perfectly for what I needed.

My main issue is this: I like the Jeep more in terms of looks, but I’m a bit worried it might be more style than substance, with potential reliability issues and higher fuel consumption. The interior also feels a bit too plasticky to me.
The Toyota seems more solid and reliable, and definitely more efficient, but I’m less convinced by the interior and overall design.

I want to make a smart decision: something I actually like, but that also makes sense for my lifestyle and will last over time.

I’ve watched a bunch of reviews, but opinions are all over the place.
Any real-world experiences or advice?
