Hi all, just after a bit of advice. im wanting to build a 30m2 garage in invercargill. Where I can fit it on the section it will run parallel to the road side boundary.

I understand you must be a minimum of 1m of the boundary but a couple builders ive talked to have said that rule only applies to boundaries where there are neighboring properties and so I can be closer than 1m to the road side boundary.

but I cant find anything online to suggest this is true and before I commit to having someone build it for me I want to make sure everything is correct.
