Field journal made from old Yerba packaging:))

My biggest hobby is going out and finding, recording, and drawing things I find in the woods. Mainly salamanders snakes and bugs, but occasionally flowers/plants. I’ve always just used a sketch book or a personal journal but I needed aiming small enough to fit in my pocket, but bigger than a field notes or pocket book. I also wanted it to be water resistant and have graph paper. I was leaning towards a trackers note book because I also wanted to put some pocket guides in that I could change out depending on the day.

The Yerba bag had a plastic-y wrap on it that makes it pretty water proof, then I put in some graph paper with a needle and thread for charts, logs, notes, and sketches. Then, using rubber bands off of salad greens, I made a travelers notebook style holder for field notes and guides which doubles as a pen holder. Finally I added a rubber band to hold it shut. I’m thing about sewing on a button closer, but the rubber band works fantastic for now :)))))

Thanks for reading my yapping!!!
