Germany Itinerary!
Hey guys!
My partner and I are heading to Germany for 2 weeks in late May, and while I have roughly planned out the itinerary, would love to see if there are anything I may have missed out on. We are flying into Berlin and flying out of Munich.
Travel style: Did not plan everything down to the tee, we just have places we absolutely want to go and wing it along the way. We like a mix of both busy and slow days, and we love beer. We won’t be renting a car, just relying on public transportation.
We have already booked flights and accommodations which are non-refundable.
May 20
Berlin (5 nights)
Day 1 - arrive at 9am from Singapore. Jetlag. Wander around and visit Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, maybe another memorial? Planning to power through until bedtime to fix the jet lag.
Day 2 - Sanssouci Palace and explore Potsdam.
Day 3 - More memorial / museum visit
Day 4 - Drink and party???
Day 5 - Is a day trip to Dresden worth it? If not we will just explore the city and parks and beer gardens!
May 25
Hamburg (2 nights)
Day 6 - Head to Hamburg, arrive at 12pm. Miniature Wonderland at night.
Day 7 - Explore Old town. Harbour cruise. Drink. Chill. Any daytrips worth going?
Regarding the harbour cruise, are there any tours done in English? So far I’ve seen only German speaking tours. Or is it possible to just do it on my own? The hop on hop off tour isn’t available on the dates we are there.
May 27
Bamberg (2 nights)
Day 8 - Head to Bamberg, arrive at 4pm. Have absolutely nothing planned for here. Slow living and romanticising this town lmao.
Day 9 - Explore
May 29
Munich (5 nights)
Day 10 - Pit stop at Nuremberg, then head to Munich. Museums. Munich Residence.
Day 11 - half day trip to Dachau and maybe Regensburg?
Day 12 - BMW - Olympiapark - Allianz ArenaWe are not exactly car enthusiasts so would the BMW Museum be our pick? Or the BMW Welt?
Day 13 - Free and easy. Depending on what we have covered in the city, might make a day trip to Zugspitze.
Day 14 - Day trip to Salzburg, don’t plan to stay a full day here.
Day 15 - Head home
Open to suggestions and tips!
Thank you!!
