So it was Trans Day of Visibility recently, and I've seen some trans people, particularly trans women, talking about how they're already way too visible in society – and not in a good way. More in a "target on your back" way. I remembered that autism rights groups are trying to replace "Autism Awareness Day/Month" with Autism Acceptance Day/Month, and I thought that this could be applied to TDoV as well. I did also make a meme recently about how transfems experience hypervisibility while transmascs experience hyper-invisibility/erasure, which is just as bad, but trans acceptance also involves visibility for those who need it, without false characterization by transphobes, and it also involves supporting trans people beyond just being visible.
