Tabletop terrain is often bulky and difficult to store between sessions.

I’ve been developing a papercraft system that builds into a full 3D city, but can be disassembled and stored completely flat.

The main challenge was designing a reusable assembly method (Prop-X system) that keeps structures stable during play while allowing repeated assembly.

I’m currently validating the concept through a Kickstarter (City of Tarok).

Paper City Of Tarok

The merchant city of Tarok was founded by settlers who migrated from the Kingdom of Tarok.
The kingdom once lay in a beautiful valley, almost entirely surrounded by the Shadow Mountains, which provided natural protection to its people. The mountains were rich in ore, and at the heart of the valley lay a lake known as Shadow Lake - the kingdom flourished there.

Ancient scrolls telling of the creatures dwelling within the Shadow Mountains were gradually forgotten, and only the village elders still spoke of the dark ages of old. According to legend, every thousand years the mountains cast a vast shadow that blankets half the continent for a century - this is how they earned their name. During these times, strange beings emerge from the darkness.

The people of Tarok tell that, at great cost, their ancestors united with neighboring kingdoms and endured until the shadows finally receded and evil was overcome. Afterward, they set out on a long journey to find a place beyond the reach of the Shadow Mountains - and there, they founded the city of Tarok.

A modular trading city designed for a living tabletop world.
Handmade & human-made.
