I got exceptionally apt recommendations on this reddit before when I was needing to feed my 85 year-old a Mother Szechuan feast. So I am coming to the well again to get y'alls' help with an Indian feast.

I hope to get food to go at Sangam Chettinad in Round Rock at lunchtime this Tuesday to take to my Mother so that we can feast for an early Mother's Day.

In general, my philosophy is to avoid ordering on apps unless absolutely necessary. Question: if I show up right when the open to order for lunch, are they going to take my to-go order? Or are they going to tell me to go to the app or hand me a tablet with the app for me to order it?

Now for the more fun part. I want to spend about $120 or so to buy a good representation of what they do well at the restaurant. We like very spicy food, so that is not a limitation. The only limitation is that it needs to carry well, because it will be an hour between the restaurant and putting it on the table to eat at Mom's house. And she lives on leftovers.

For those of you who have eaten there, what was something that you think we shouldn't miss? I think that we can get, maybe, 6 dishes plus some breads. But I can spend more if needed.

I'll start: Chilantro. Remember that hype?!?

Today I paid $20.95 for a bowl of bibimbap with the sorriest-ass beef they could rustle up to sling on top. It was all gristle. Steamed. Really.

The rest of the bowl was satisfying in the way that K-slop tastes good. But $20?

This is the second time I have eaten at Chilantro. The first was a vaguely good memory of fries maybe 10 years ago. This time was a mistake.

This is a place that needs to just fizzle out. At this point, they are just cheating people.
