Would you actually use a leather zipper pouch in a slim ring setup?

We’ve been debating something internally lately:
would a leather zipper pouch actually make sense in a slim ring setup?

The idea itself is pretty straightforward.

If you’re using a Pocket or Mini setup, you could quickly grab cash or cards without undoing the band every time — just unzip and go.

Pocket size feels especially natural for this since cards already fit pretty well.
Mini is a bit more questionable though. It’s probably possible, but taking cards in and out might end up feeling slightly cramped.

At the same time, we’ve been hesitant for a few reasons.

A leather pouch would end up significantly more expensive than a normal PVC pouch.
It would also take up a decent amount of ring space — and keeping setups slim/light is something we care about a lot.

And honestly… there are already some really good PVC pouches out there:
lighter, thinner, and much more affordable.

But a leather pouch just feels different somehow.

So before we go too far with the idea, we genuinely wanted to ask:

Would you actually use a leather zipper pouch in your setup?
Which size would make the most sense for you?
And is there anything specific you’d want from it?

Hi everyone,

First of all — thank you.

This month’s theme (“My MeePlus Setup”) was a really fun one for us.
We got to see how different systems take shape — how people split, connect, and adapt their setups to fit real life.

Going through all the posts was honestly one of the highlights of the month.

🏆 Winner — Binder of Your Choice
u/shark-on-a-stick — “My MeePlus Setup: Slices of the same cake”

The idea of “slices of the same cake” really stood out.

Using different setups for different parts of life — while still keeping them connected — feels simple, but very intentional.
Separating work and non-work like this makes both systems work better.

We also especially loved the idea of integrating an ereader into the binder.
Turning a divider into a secure way to carry it is such a creative use of the system — it goes beyond planning and into something much closer to a true everyday carry setup.

It’s one of those ideas that feels both clever and practical, and really shows how flexible the system can be.

📄 Refill Winners

u/epoo75 — “My MeePlus Setup: my brain and director”

This one stood out for how clearly it solves a real planning problem.

Using the binder as a place for quick brain dumps — and then being able to remove those pages once they’re no longer needed — is such a simple but powerful shift.
It reduces clutter, but more importantly, it reduces mental load.

Turning the system into a “brain and director” feels exactly right — capture fast, organize later, and only keep what matters.

u/SpecialistSharp2222 — “My MeePlus Setup: Dynamic Duo”

We loved how complete and lived-in this setup feels.

Using two binders with different roles — one for reflection, one as a daily workhorse — creates a really balanced system.
It’s a great example of how different sizes and ring capacities can support different needs without overlap.

Final Thoughts

What we enjoyed most this time wasn’t just the setups, but the thinking behind them.

How systems evolve
How different roles emerge
How everything slowly becomes more “you”

Hi everyone, Lora here 👋

Since I’ve been working from home recently, I took some time to properly organize my desk — and I’m actually really happy with how it turned out, so wanted to share it with you all!

My desk is about 1.7m wide (around 67 inches), and I split it into two main zones:

* Left side = work zone

When I’m working, I like to keep my mini notebook open next to me so I can quickly jot down any brain dump ideas, random thoughts, or to-dos as they come up. I also keep a personal-size ring binder here as my business planner — it kind of works as my little “command center” for projects, planning, and anything I need to keep track of.

* Right side = planning zone

This side holds my archive binders and some lower-frequency notebooks — like reading notes and my commonplace book.

* Middle = shared zone

I placed my most-used binders, refills, and pens right in the middle, so everything is easy to reach from either side. I also keep a small tea set here — I’ve recently gotten into tea, and having a cup while working or planning just makes the whole experience feel a lot more enjoyable.

Under the desk, I added quite a bit of storage — I’ve been using it to organize inks, different pens, sticky notes, stamps, etc. It’s not the prettiest part, but it’s very practical.

Right now, I’m thinking about getting a larger pen organizer so I can group all my pens more neatly in one place. Also… I might have a bit too many refills 😅 It’s starting to get harder to flip through and find what I need — still figuring out a better system for that.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Any ideas on how I could improve this setup?

Hi everyone, Lora here.

I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind for a long time —
I’ve always wanted to write a small ebook about ring binders. Not as a “perfect system,” but more about how a flexible system can adjust to your brain, instead of forcing you to fit into it.

And also something simple but meaningful:
what people actually choose to keep in their binders, and how that might inspire more of us to pick up a pen and start writing — anytime, anywhere.

So over the past two weeks, I started turning this idea into something real.

I’ve been collecting real examples from customers and creators — how they’re actually using their MeePlus (and other) setups in daily life.

👉 You can check out the google doc here.

And honestly, it’s been really fun to go through.

There’s way more variety than I expected:

  • planners
  • commonplace books
  • reading notes
  • ink swatches
  • recipes
  • finance planners
  • sketchbooks
  • and a lot of in-between uses

It made me realize it’s less about finding the “right system,”
and more about building something that works with the way your thoughts move.

I’m still working on it and will keep updating the doc over time.
My hope is that it might give you a few ideas, or maybe inspire you to try something new with your setup.

And if you have any thoughts or suggestions for the doc, I’m all ears :)
