I am struggling on a commercial solar system and need some help. This is for my building and I want to do a smuch as I can. I am an Enphase installer for both residential and commercial through Enphase University. I have completed only one large residential system with the help of an electrician (his first solar and he is not certified installer). This system is on my house and I have posted about it in the past. Has great help from many here.
Now I am mid construction on my warehouse that has two 9,000 sf roof tops. I want to put about 80 kW on each roof. They would be nearly identical systems. I am considering hiring a local company (have two bids) but also feel I could handle this myself. I am struggling with the "gear" portion, such as main distributon panel, aggregator (combiner) panels, CT cabinets, system controller 3, etc and setup for future addition of at least 30 kWh backup battery. My electrician can install all of this but he can't help with the design (no experience). I paid for a solar design but they also can't tell me exactly what gear (panels) I will need (they are based out of India and do a lot of design for US companies and solar design software).
Some details: 3 phase 208v. The structure service will be 1,200A that will divide in the exterior mounted MDP (main distribution panel) to two 600A services each in an exterior metered CT cabinet. From there I get lost. I am trying to piece this together so I can have the solar design updated with exact gear so I can then submit to my AHJ. I am including sme pictures of the building, the current solar design, and a design flow chart that I used Claude Ai to help with (may be all wrong). I have determined this will need to be a line side connection due to size and to accomodate the EV chargers and battery backup.
Can anyone help me with the details and or recommend exact equipment (gear).
The two 9,000 sf units have a shared firewall and the north unit is 4' lower than the south unit. The solar lines come down off the roof top near ground this shared wall and then I get lost. I can't picture the size of these cabinets and where they would mount (system controller 3, agregator/combiner, etc). Can anyone help me complete this design portion that is all the heavy gear, or recommend a company (solar elec engineer) that can help me wrap this up? I originally had a quote for $14K just to design the system. Greenlancer would have been about half but I didn't feel comfortable with the process they use to hook me up with a designer (one size fits all feel to it). I felt those charges were too much and while it may have been standard for the industry I feel Iike I am too close now to start over from scratch. Again, a big part of the story is that I want to do as much of this as I possibly can. I want to be invloved so I understand it and can do it largely myself in the future.
