Omega Gold Pro EA update – no trades the last 2 weeks (markets just weren’t cooperating)

Hey Everyone,

Happy Easter.

Just a quick honest update from the dev side on my Omega Gold Pro (the trend-following EA I built for XAUUSD on H1/H4).

The past couple of weeks have been completely flat — zero entries. That’s not a bug, it’s exactly how the strategy is supposed to work. It only takes trades when the higher-timeframe trend is clear and the price action lines up with it. In choppy or low-volatility conditions it simply sits on the sidelines. I’d rather miss a few setups than force bad ones.

Here’s a short 3-second clip of what it looks like when a proper trending move finally shows up

You can see the clean breakout, the buy trigger at 3609.69, the ATR-based stop, and the red trend line confirming the bias. Nothing fancy, just the EA doing its thing.

I’ve got the latest weekly update video up with the full picture. What it skipped over the last 14 days, and the reasoning behind the rules:

The EA itself is on MQL5 if you want to take a look:

Happy to answer any questions — especially from other devs or traders who run trend-following systems. How have the last couple of weeks been for your bots? Have you also been in full “wait mode”?

Thanks for reading!

Quick snapshot from the gold EA I’ve been

Quick snapshot from the gold EA I’ve been

Nothing fancy, just a quick screenshot from the gold EA I’ve been letting run on XAUUSD.

It’s a super simple trend-continuation setup:

• Checks the H4 direction first

• Takes entries on the H1

• Only adds to the position when price keeps moving in the trend (no averaging down, no martingale nonsense)

This particular run was one of the cleaner ones — it stacked a few buys as gold just kept grinding higher. You can see the three open positions and how it trailed along with the move.

I’m still letting the EA run live and just watching how it behaves day-to-day. No big claims, just sharing the actual chart from one decent move.

Anyone else running something similar on gold? Would love to hear what you’re seeing.

Been testing a gold EA on Darwinex Zero — interesting behaviour

Been running some internal tests on a gold (XAUUSD) EA using a Darwinex Zero style setup (100k, realistic conditions), and noticed something I thought was worth sharing.

The system didn’t trade much at all for a while — which at first felt like it was just missing moves. But looking deeper, it was actually sitting out a lot of messy conditions and only engaging when the structure was clean.

Last week especially was pretty choppy, and it completely avoided it. The week before that it caught a cleaner move.

It’s made me rethink something slightly — less trades doesn’t necessarily mean worse performance. In a lot of cases it’s just better filtering. I also found a filter that makes the EA participant in more bearish movement! Made entries a lot more fun to experiment.

Any questions ask away!
