WTF happened to Forbidden Kingdom?
Last year was my second time at Forbidden Kingdom and it was amazing. I went on a Saturday and that's when I was introduced to riddim. I always thought that bullshit at the main stage was riddim but no I got introduced to actual OG riddim without a song changing every 5 seconds or meme drops like my name is Jeff.
Anyway, this year they got rid of the village stage and literally on a Saturday they had no riddim at all. The mystic stage was just all drum and bass. I thought this was supposed to be a riddim / dubstep festival?
No matter what stage you're at whether it be dragon's lair or the main stage, everyone always plays the same shit. The same throw a mosh pit, Kendrick Lamar, trap sounding music, house etc. It's like they can't pick a genre and stick with it.
I've been going to these festivals in Orlando since 2017 and it's the same shit every time. Now I don't need people to say Oh it's just cuz you're in Orlando, I don't care. I'm just saying that there should be actual riddim at this festival.
And I know there are a few artists on Sunday but, who really goes hard on a Sunday? They should have had both days have riddim artists. Every single festival whether it be lost lands or EDC or forbidden Kingdom they always play the same shit.
The same popular music that gets people hyped up. I want something where there's actual riddim. I know a whole festival can't be only dedicated to it but at least if there was a stage just like the village stage last year I would be satisfied.
And yeah I know that people will say I'm taking this shit too seriously but I don't give a fuck. I'm tired of people eating up the same bullshit. I even went to EDC last year after not going to it for about 4 years and it was literally the same as it was 4 years ago. They played the exact same music.
If anyone knows any events or underground places where I can hear some actual riddim that would be great.
Even an after party that I went to tonight was playing the same generic tearout/dubstep and experimental bass. You would think for a forbidden Kingdom after party they would actually play riddim but no.
TL;DR: Where the hell was the riddim?
