Never expected a journal to cause a paradigm shift in my life.

So, for some context I just turned 50 and have been the sole breadwinner for our family of four for the last 15 years while navigating my husband’s debilitating health issues. I can’t remember buying myself anything but necessities for at least that a decade. For my birthday my Dad gave me a generous Visa gift card with the stipulation that I could only use it on myself and only for something purely fun. That is when I bought my first Hobonichi Weeks, and the rest is history... I now have Weeks (habit and budget tracker), Hon A6 (personal diary), Cousin (work time-blocking/tasks), pencil boards, Small Drawer Pouch, Drawer Ane (LOVE THIS!!), Deco Rush Washi Tape, Pocchito push stamps, supplment notebooks, Uni One and Emott Pens!! My gift card is empty and my heart is full.

Doing this for myself made me realize it has been a long time since I felt joy about something related to purely me, and I think that is something we all deserve to find and do everything we can to keep alive 💖

Max depth of large drawer pouch?

First - I am obsessed with drawer pouches!! I have the small and the Ane, and now I've convinced myself I need the large. The specs say the depth is 1.2", but I'm assuming that is when it is empty. If anyone has maxed out their large drawer pouch and would be willing to measure it for me I would be forever grateful. I want to use it to transport my A5 Hon and a junior size Levenger Circa. I think I would need at about 1 3/4" (4 cm) of inside pouch depth to accomdate that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

My regular Weeks is the linen-type cover so my inclination is to buy something different, but something about the Sneaker line is giving me pause and I can't figure out what. Would love to hear any thoughts / experiences / recommendations around the Sneaker Mega Weeks before I buy, thank you! (color is not a consideration for me at this point, I'll be putting on a clear cover with a design so any color background would work. Ohh.. .I wonder if I can even put a clear cover on the Sneaker Weeks?? Thank you in advance for your sage advice!

I can’t find the Midori clip band in A6 anywhere. I really love the way it clips on the back of the journal instead of having to keep track of the band when I take it off. Has anyone seen anything with a similar structure?

After weeks of lurking and countless hours of browsing, I finally have my own little Hobo family! I am using the Weeks for habit tracking, the Hon for my daily planner, and the absolutely adorable notebook for my private journaling (took a closeup to show that the fireworks are actually shimmery!). I’ve been going through a tough time with the end of a 25 year marriage, and I can’t tell you the joy these little guys bring to me.

I doubt I can add anything here that hasn’t been shared already, but one thing I think turned out cool was to use a variety of super skinny washi tapes to match the colors of each month to cover up the built-in timeline. It’s a perfect concealer without taking up too much room and starts my page already with a little fun personalization.

I’m starting everything tomorrow, one week before my 50th birthday! I’m not sure if it’s normal to have notebooks make me feel hopeful about a fresh start in life, but these really have.💝
