Was anyone else told by their managers to remove all personal items from the desk at the end of every day going forward?

They told us it was for cleaning, but it just seems so odd that I can't leave anything at my desk at the end of the day

I am getting so burnt out at my current job and I just can't take it anymore. I feel like I've applied to every jobs in lower bucks, Montgomery County, Delco, and Philly. I just have total application fatigue and I'm at the point I don't even get rejection emails. It feels like every job I find is either entry level that requires 10 years of experience or they require a masters. Thanks

Edit: I have a degree in History, I'm looking to get into teaching (but I don't have a teaching certificate, and most of my experience is in customer service and museum work.
