California Board of Accountancy Citation
Hi all,
I received a notice from the CBA that I was in violation of CCR section 87(a)(1) – "Basic Requirements “(a)(1) A licensee renewing a license in an active status, shall complete a minimum of 20 hours in each year of the two-year license renewal period, with a minimum of 12 hours of the required 20 hours in technical subject areas as described in subsection (a)(2).”
They want to fine me $150. This was my first renewal and I heard from a co-worker that the 20 hour minimum requirement wasn't applicable for for first-time renewals, which is why I completed all of the hours my second year.
If anyone has been in a similar situation and has appeal, what's your situation and is it likely for a successful appeal? Or should I just pay the $150.
