Update on my Ringbearer Hardcore challenge: The Fellowship broke in the Mines of Moria.
My first post caught a lot more attention than I had thought it would, so I appreciate your support Hardcore subreddit! Y'all are the best, let's keep up the great work coming up with these unique challenges, keep pushing ourselves, and playing the game in whatever way we think is fun.
UPDATE POST
After 15.5 hours of fishing for The 1 Ring, I actually made it to level 26 without the burden completely breaking my mind. Although, there have been a few close calls along the way.
Since I am playing Race Locked on Skull Rock, my Fellowship can only consist of other Halflings. We decided to hit Deadmines to simulate passing through the Mines of Moria, but an all-Halfling party means zero healers. My only defense against the corruption in these dungeons is building campfires mid-dungeon during down times.
Our first attempt was a tragedy. A pull went south, and without a healer to bail us out, we lost 3 out of 5 of our Halflings in the dark. Rest in Peace, Chintown, Magitard, and Minimorby. Bonniesdad and I narrowly made it out, me having 10% remaining HP. I regrouped, formed a new Fellowship, went back in taking it super slow, and finally vanquished the enemies in the dark.
I've attached a few screenshots of the journey so far. Getting to see MOUNTAINS, GANDALF! Managing my corruption in the Mines, and right around the time I am about to be captured by Faramir.
I am so glad to have survived thus far, time to keep moving. Next stop, hopefully Stocks so I can get another great ring to accompany my ring of power!
