Hi everyone!

I’ll be in Innsbruck for work on June 1st and I’m planning to extend my stay for a few days to do a hut-to-hut hike.

I’m an experienced hiker with good fitness, but I’ve hit a bit of a planning wall: it seems most high-altitude huts and trails only open mid-June due to the remaining snowpack.

Since I am hiking solo, I want to be responsible and avoid dangerous snow-covered paths or steep icy traverses. I’m looking for a 2 to 4 days hike that stays at a slightly lower elevation or follows south-facing slopes that might be clear by early June.

My questions for the locals

• Are there any specific routes near Innsbruck that are usually accessible by the first week of June?
• Which huts are known to open early (late May/early June)?
