The Outreach Team/ Charlotte NC
Indeed had a job post from a company called, The Outreach Team. Supposedly they do fundraising and canvassing work throughout the country for political causes.
Either they are a scam or they have really poor management/ organizational skills. They will invite applicants for a zoom interview, very shortly after applying. There’s a group of other candidates attending the interview simultaneously. They start off with an introduction to the organization and the kind of work that they do. Then later in they separate each person to interview separately and ask the applicant to present an elevator speech, based on a prompt that they put together.
If they offer you the position, they will ask for a background check to be completed, along with other personal identification information. They will tell you that the background check is needed to be completed and cleared before sharing the office address for your scheduled onboarding/ training day. They will not even give you the address after the background check is completed. The onboarding date will be push back several days or even weeks from the original time that has been given. They will avoid answering any questions that you may have.
This could be a legitimate organization, but maybe someone created a fake account on indeed. Maybe the website is fake and a scammer is pretending to be a legitimate company.
There was a post on Reddit from 2 years ago, where someone has shared their experience with filling out all the required documents and giving it to “The Outreach Team”, just to be provided with a bogus address to the office location. Some people commented in that post, claiming that they are a real company, but that they are awful to work for, based on several reasons. I just don’t trust them.
Do not give this company any of the information that they are looking for. If you already have, go to all of the credit report providers and freeze credit reports, change passwords and account information linked to your personal identification and so on.
Even if they are legit, they don’t seem trustworthy. I wouldn’t trust working for them and potentially not receiving payments or something crazy like that ( I am not stating that this will in fact happen, but they seem disorganized at the least ).
