I know there’s been a lot of posts and saddens in the neighborhood lately because of the news of their closing this week but I just have a few thing to say
I love caputos and their bread was amazing a staple in my family my whole life like 4 generations of my family has consumed their bread since they came here from italy I’m not here to hate but it has saddens me to watch the neighborhood I grew up in disappear over the last 5/10 years a huge loss to the neighborhood to lose yet another classic italian spot all these interviews have just been about him wanting to retire and that the family didn’t want to take over and yes okay that is a complete valid reason that is why Espositos closed but yk what he let everyone know it wasn’t a sudden doors shut over night patrons were able to say goodbye get their last sandwiches caputos just shut its doors one night and we all found out abruptly not only did we find out abruptly his customers but so did the people he supplied bread to which is kinda fucked no heads up to these other local businesses that relied on him yes and lastly the people that run the store that have dedicated so much time and hard work to keep the store running to have the bread delivered to the other local businesses baking the bread and serving us all the delicious goods they found out just like us showed up to work to find a sign on the store that it was closed for good that is absolutely fucked !!!! Imagine going to work and finding out your job is just gone just like that
he owns the building so rent couldn’t have been raised drastically bc he owns it haha and they were always busy when I went hell they extended their hours because they had gotten so popular a bike lane being a part of the reason is straight bs and all the old heads of the neighborhood pressed abt a bike lane need to chill
There was definitely more to why they closed than what is being presented to us online most likely fees or violations with the business and machinery not up to code and he just didn’t want to deal with it anymore and just decided to shut the doors whatever the true case is my heart goes out to those who worked the counters baked the delicious bread and all the hard work they also poured into this business to be there everyday who are no out of jobs

I have had a website with square space for quite a few years now I have not changed much on the site I use it as a site to show my work like an online portfolio recently I keep getting square space emails about my site and account being blacklisted they want me to work with some support clerk they internally have they’re asking upwards 200 to fix these errors that seem to just be optimization issues to make it easier for the viewer ? I have no experience in coding , website making and am not super technical with technology that’s why I was using square space for so long. They said the shopping cart icon was an issue and I wasn’t selling anything so I removed the tab and it no longer shows on my site the person I spoke to via email sent me examples but it’s just basically changing the whole way my site looks which I don’t understand why I have to do that I’m here for advice on what to do I cannot afford 200 to fix my site and I honestly don’t even really understand these errors or where they could’ve come any insight or advice is appreciated so I can do this myself I Initially thought it was all a scam I didn’t want to have to switch services for my website but thinking maybe I now do
