We're an odd bunch, aren't we?

There are a lot of new contributors. Or, maybe they're long-time lurkers and first-time posters. Sometimes I feel like an oldie. There's a lot of redditors in this subreddit who just disappeared. They were active, then, POOF, they're gone. No updates. No more contributions. Just MIA. I only hope it's because they've entered a better stage in their life.

Anyway, keep on updating. It's weird but, I don't know, I look forward to those slice-of-life type posts. Yeah, this is a great resource for information and support. But, that's the thing. That support portion? That's the UCL community.

So, if you feel like a blacksheep, an outcast, like you don't belong? That's basically what we are. Just a hodgepodge of random people from all walks of life living out of vehicles. We're an odd bunch, aren't we?

Cheers.

$17 Truck Stop Shower UPDATE

Some seemed upset about a comment I made in the previous post; about an incident in my past where I asked a trucker if he could spare a shower token, and said trucker wanted something in return for it. That actually happened. It was some years ago. It's why I don't ask. But, my single bad experience is not going to be all experiences. To demonstrate this notion, today I asked a trucker if he had a shower token to spare—and he helped me out! I have met wholesome truckers. Thanks, kind sir!

I don't know how this stuff works. I imagine truckers receive a number of points based on x-miles they acrue. The man used what looked like a Love's Travel Stop card, so I think it's an in-house point system where x-amount of points equals a shower.
