I saw a comment earlier about not getting the hype behind the Rolex GMT-Master II "Coke," and honestly, looking at the market in 2026, it’s a fair question.

We just came out of Watches & Wonders 2026 where everyone—literally everyone—predicted the return of the Red/Black ceramic bezel. When Rolex officially discontinued the steel Pepsi (126710BLRO) and didn't release a Coke to replace it, the community went into a bit of a meltdown.

The hype isn't about the current watch; it’s about the fact that the Coke has become the "forbidden fruit" of the Rolex catalog.

If you’ve been following the Ambani wedding festivities, you know the watch game has been on another planet. But this Les Cabinotiers Bacchus is probably the wildest piece we’ve seen yet. It’s not just a watch; it’s a one-of-a-kind piece of art that Vacheron only makes for its most discerning clients.

The first thing you notice isn't even the time—it’s the case. It’s hand-engraved with gold vines and set with rubies that look like actual grapes. It’s loud, it’s regal, and it completely fits the energy of the event. But what’s really cool is how much is going on inside without it looking like a computer on his wrist. It’s got everything from a tourbillon to a minute repeater that chimes the time, and it even tracks the stars and the sunrise.

It’s the perfect example of "if you have to ask the price, you aren't the target audience."

I’m curious what you guys think about these "mega-complications":

I’ve been waiting for the post-Watches and Wonders chaos to hit, but honestly, it’s been weirdly quiet. Usually, by late April, my feed is nothing but people screaming about the new Rolex releases, but this year it feels like everyone is just "meh."

Even with the Centenary Oyster Perpetual and the Jubilee Gold Day-Date, the buzz just isn't there. Is it because the designs are too "safe"? Or are we all just feeling the burnout from the constant price hikes and those 39% tariffs everyone’s talking about?

It’s like the "easy money" era of 2022 is officially over, and now only the hardcore collectors are left in the room. I’m seeing way more talk about stone dials and "jewelry" pieces than I am about the actual sport watches.

Why do you think everyone is so quiet? Have we finally reached "peak Rolex," or is the market just taking a breath because everything has gotten so expensive? I’m genuinely curious if anyone is actually hyped for a 2026 delivery or if you're just sitting this year out.

I’m genuinely curious—if you’re building a collection, where does your head go? Are you taking the artistic "Giraffe," the iced-out Obsidian grail, or the legendary Le Mans?

One has to stay, the rest have to go. What are you picking?
