Building a peer-to-peer delivery app in India — here's where we are after launch
Hey BIP folks — founder here. Building Kuruier, a marketplace where senders connect with actual travelers to move packages instead of paying DHL prices.
The core insight: millions of people travel between cities every day with empty bag space, and millions of others need packages moved affordably. We just... connect them.
Three modes live:
✈️ Air — travelers with spare baggage carry international/intercity packages. 70–90% cheaper than courier companies.
🚌 Road — intercity via car/bus/train travelers. Pricing negotiated in-chat.
🛵 Rider — on-demand intra-city delivery with live GPS.
Trust layer: OTP at pickup & delivery, KYC-checked carriers, live GPS tracking.
We just went live on both app stores. First real transactions are imminent. Target markets are India, UAE, and GCC — big diaspora, expensive courier costs, lots of travelers moving between the same corridors.
Honestly, the hardest part so far hasn't been the tech — it's the cold-start problem of getting both senders AND carriers onto the platform at the same time. We're dog-fooding it ourselves and it's working, just slowly.
Happy to answer anything. Would love feedback from people who've navigated the two-sided marketplace cold start.
