Between the release of the fourth and fifth Shrek, one of the big changes that happened with Dreamworks was their acquisition by Comcast, so I think we’ll see nods to franchises also owned by Comcast and Universal like The Fast and Furious franchise, Illumination movies like Despicable Me or maybe some Law and Order references.

1. First up, the cast and original short story weren’t as well known to mainstream audiences

2. The show’s marketing didn’t give much difference from other workplace sitcoms like The Office and Superstore.(CBS is terrible with marketing their shows outside of their dramas)
