My first build! Lucius Atelier x DS Watch Club and a darn piece of lint
Hi everyone, I proudly present my very first build! I'm really pleased with the result. I knew I was taking risks with both the stone dial, which I've heard are fragile, and the ultra thin case from Lucius Atelier, which I gather are less forgiving than other cases. Nevertheless, I had a vision and wanted to give it a go.
Not that I have any personal point of reference, but I'm really impressed by the quality of the parts from both LA and DS! And Adriel added a hand written thank you note which was a thoughtful touch.
I used an NH35 to keep my options open in case I had too much trouble with the stone dials and wanted to go with something else that had a date.
Despite examining the dial closely before installation and dabbing dust away with Rodico, a sneaky piece of lint somehow got in and has planted itself at about 7 o'clock. The dial also photographs more blue than it is. In person it's a gorgeous deep yet dynamic, brilliant green.
It's not quite finished as I'm having trouble with the crown (I've cut one down that's ever so slightly too short, and one that's ever so slightly too long, but the two are less than a mm different in length). I'll probably post soon for some assistance. But it's been keeping great time and I've worn it for a week!
It's a great feeling wearing a watch that I assembled! I had such a blast putting it together. I've definitely caught the bug and want to make a bunch more for family and friends.
