Being evicted so my rooommates sister can take my room?
Forgive whatever typos come out of this, I'm fuming. I've been subletting in an apartment since February of 2025. My roommate is annoying in some ways, but fine, nothing that has been a MAJOR issue. Today she told me that I would need to move out because her sister is moving to the city MAY 15 and needs to live in my room. My roommate is planning to move back to her hometown come October, and her sister, I guess, will move back with her. But she told me today, April 10. I'm just??? How can you just say I have to leave because your sister needs my room? It's incredibly inappropriate, awkward, and strange. Thankfully, I'm from the city, and my family lives here, but deep in Brooklyn, away from the life I have built. It's fine, I can move back, but again FUMING. I can;t understand how she has justified this in her mind. The crazy thing is, I think she thinks it's not a big deal or something.
I don't desire to fight with her over the space, but I KNOW it's wrong. She's also sent me some listings that she had been looking for because she thinks it's the nice thing to do. Since I've lived here, btw, I have had 0 direct contact with the landlord. It's kind of a shitty building, and because I've been living under a sublet, I guess my roommate has been handling all of that directly when it comes to repair, etc, etc. I say that to say, I just don't even know if it's worth trying to reach out to them about this, OR fight with my roommate over what is essentially an eviction with months' notice.
Should I just hex her?
