So I have a court date tomorrow for getting pulled over in Brooklyn back in January on my way to work. I don’t normally drive in Brooklyn and I got confused with the traffic signs and my gps and made a bad decision to turn when I shouldn’t have. Anyways I got 2 tickets for “IMP LEFT TURN-2 WAY”(2 points) and “FLD YIELD PED/VEH”(3 points) and let me clarify it was a vehicle I failed to yield to. I definitely was at fault on this one I won’t even lie i remember the officer pulled me over and I’ve never been pulled over before but I was extremely nervous bc my life just flashed before my eyes a minute ago not bc I was being pulled over. So yeah i definitely am in the wrong but i pleaded not guilty to both tickets and found out that i cant plea bargain at all and now im kinda stressing bc i was hoping to explain my situation to the judge and explain i have a clean driving record and I was on my way to work and i was coming from long island so i never drive in Brooklyn and hope to get my tickets reduced or lowered but thats not a possibility apparently so im curious if anyone has advice on what to do?
I was also thinking maybe I could try to get the more serious of the 2 dismissed and just pay for the other one. I’m really not sure and I’m not trying to fuck up my insurance but I’m sure that’s inevitable any advice is much appreciated thanks!
