Do you always start a workout on your Apple Watch when exercising?

Genuine question — do you guys always hit “start workout” on your Apple Watch when you exercise?

I’ve noticed that if I don’t start a workout, it kind of feels like the activity “doesn’t count” even though I’m clearly moving and sweating.

Is there any downside to just letting it auto-detect everything, or do most people manually start workouts for better tracking accuracy?
