Hi! Incoming MAT/PHY/ORFE student here trying to decide on a laptop setup for college. I’m currently leaning towards a MacBook Air, but I’m unsure whether 24GB unified memory and 512GB storage would be sufficient for the kind of coursework and coding involved (I’m planning to take a few COS courses too!)

I’m also debating between the 13-inch and 15-inch models, not sure how much the size difference matters for portability, multitasking, note-taking, and day-to-day student life

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences from current students. Thanks!

Hi! I’m an incoming student interested in PHY/MAT/ORFE and was hoping to get some advice on laptops.

I noticed that Princeton recommends the MacBook Pro or Dell models, but I’ve also heard that these might be more than what’s actually needed. I’d really appreciate it if any current students or alumni could share what laptops and specs have worked well for you.
