It seems that was his original idea since when Bronte wakes up after getting kidnapped he literally says “so are we gonna ransom you or what?” Which is actually a really good idea. First of all it would’ve given the gang it’s last needed bit of cash for the Tahiti plan and it would keep Dutch and his gangs presence under the radar a bit more since Angelos death wouldn’t make headlines. Sure they would still catch attention for the mass shootings at the trolley station and Brontes manor. But I’m also sure that they would’ve been able to leave immediately after ransoming off the cities crime lord without even needing to hit the Bank. I mean the man’s obviously flush with cash. What do you think? I personally think it’s one of Dutch’s biggest blunders not ransoming Bronte because his ego got crushed by a Dons words.
