A few months ago I kept running into the same problem. I wanted to remember what I ate during the day but every app I tried felt like work. Barcode scanners, huge databases, portion sliders. I just wanted to write it down.
So I built LogFast. You open it, type what you ate in plain text, and it figures out the rough nutrition for you. No scanning, no searching. Just type and move on.
The goal was never to build a calorie tracker. It is a food journal. That difference matters to me because a journal is something you do for yourself, not something that judges you.
Biggest thing I learned: simple is deceptively hard. Every extra tap becomes obvious very quickly when you use something every day. I have removed more features than I have added at this point.
Still early but seeing the first real users log their meals has been a great feeling. Small numbers but it feels like proof the idea makes sense to people other than me.
Happy to hear any feedback, positive or critical.
