RVU UTAH vs DUQCOM
50/50 on these two have no idea where to go. Each with there own pros and cons. Keep in mind I want to go into General Surgery
DUQCOM PROS:
-Faculty seems very helpful
- Great access to research
- opportunity to do clinical in manor hospital systems
-Attached to a successful university
-Students seem to love it there
-Bypasses BBB
Cons:
-No statistics
-No idea how well classes will do on comlex/usmile
- New school
- Graded and have to go to class 80% of the time.
RVU Utah Pros:
- Established school and has great statistics
- Has matched or placed multiple students into General Surgery
- I have heard faculty is very helpful
- It is HP/P/F and not required to go to lecture
Cons:
- I have heard the clinical locations can be iffy( but I could be mistaken)
- Lack of research and no wet lab (I need research for general surgery)
- I have heard mixed things about the surrounding are many say its fuller of older people and more quiet which im not against, but it aint good either
- Lots of private loans will probably be needed
