Hi ladies,
I’ve had vestibulodynia and hypertonic pelvic floor muscles for 25 years. I’m 44, and it took 9 years to get a proper diagnosis. Despite seeing NHS specialists, I’m often denied care and face long waits (6 months to 2 years). It’s been exhausting and feels like I’ve lost a big part of my sexuality and identity.
I’ve tried: Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Gabapentin, Pregabalin, Duloxetine, physiotherapy (privately), Botox, dilators, Lidocaine desensitisation, CBT, acupuncture, hypnosis, mindfulness, and oestrogen treatments. Duloxetine and physio have helped, and Pregabalin also worked, but my gynaecologist (Deborah Boyle, Royal Free Hospital) won’t prescribe it alongside Duloxetine.
Before considering a vestibulectomy, I’d like to try compounded creams (Gabapentin, Baclofen, Diazepam, testosterone, etc), EMDR, and laser therapy. I’m willing to go private again to speed things up as I've reached the end of my tether.
Can anyone recommend UK practitioners who would prescribe these? I’m considering the Vulvar Pain Clinic in London but it’s VERY expensive!
Thanks a bunch ladies xxx
