Hi everyone,

I’m 16 and I’ve been trying to have my first lucid dream for a while now, but I’ve had zero success so far. I’m really motivated, but I have one major constraint: I don’t want to use any techniques that require waking up in the middle of the night (No WBTB/Alarms). I need a routine that works from the moment I go to bed until I wake up naturally.

My situation:

  • I have never had a single lucid dream in my life. I have no idea what it feels like, and I've never even been "close" to becoming conscious during a dream.
  • I kept a dream journal for a full month about 2 months ago.
  • I took a 2-month break, but I am officially starting my journal again today.
  • Sleep quality: No issues. I’m currently sleeping about 10 hours a night, so I have plenty of REM time.

My dreams: My dreams are often quite vivid (space exploration, The Expanse vibes, or hanging out with friends), but I never realize I’m dreaming, even when things get totally absurd (like a clock showing 40:00 or swimming across the ocean). My brain just accepts everything as real.

My question: What is the most effective "DILD" (Dream Initiated Lucid Dream) routine for someone who has never experienced lucid dreaming before and won't use alarms? Should I go all-in on ADA (All Day Awareness) combined with MILD at bedtime?

Any advice from experienced dreamers who started like me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
