I need to buy a truck that will haul a 3-horse gooseneck trailer (similar to this trailer: https://horsetrailerworld.com/home/trailerdetail.asp?ID=1124036). It will primarily be used for local hauling (50 miles or less), but the longest hauls will be 800+ mile trips throughout the intermountain west and west coast.

Is something equivalent to a Ram 2500 enough for this? Would diesel or gas be better? Thanks
