I am about to graduate from high school and attend university (I know im likely thinking too far ahead but I do genuinely worry about the path I plan to take) and I am majoring in English & Psychology. I have a deep passion for both, and after I get my bachelor’s I would like to pursue a masters in English. My dream job is as a high school English teacher, but I am worried about timing. How long would it take to get a teaching liscence after I get my masters? Do I need to major in education instead (something I would rather not do)? While I am absolutely blessed to not have many financial concerns, I predict that more than 6 years before a full time job would be very financially risky. Thanks for the advice!
