Hey all!
26 m here. 6 feet 175 lbs, decent shape.
Long story short, its been almost 3 months since I had last played with my regular full court pickup group.
In that time frame I go to the gym, but only 2-3 times a week and just do mild strength training, no cardio / running etc.
We finally all play full court again on Sunday, and it was a solid 2 and a half hours of pretty much nonstop play for me.
Suprisingly my cardio was still completely fine and I was able to be full speed sprinting up the court multiple times, stayed moving etc.
However I made the mistake of barely hydrating during the session, and waited til after I got home to rehydrate.
I knew I would be sore since it had been a while since I played, but this time the soreness hit me like a truck.
My entire body - legs inner thighs feet back neck weird parts of my arm etc are sore and stiff. Almost like bad body aches when you have the flue but im not sick.
I slept terribly the last two niggts because of this.
Has anyone else experienced this to this level?
Im guessing its worse this time to my lack of hydration (also drank a decent amount of alcohol the prior two nights before playing and didnt hydrate like I should),and the break?
God usually the soreness feels great but this time not so much
