I'm really sad ☹️.
I'm a recent and convert and new to this church, I've been attending for about 9-10 months and today our Parish priest announced after this morning's mass that he would be reassigned. A month ago, they also announced our associate pastor would also be reassigned as lead pastor to a different church.
Really bummed that both will exit at the same time. I know the staff and those who have been in the community for years are feeling even more sad about this.
To be honest, I'm shy and don't really talk to them outside of greeting them but they were the ones who welcomed us during the Easter Vigil so I am super sad about this.
What's a good parting gift for both? I was thinking a basket of curated food items. At least with food items, they are consumable and don't need to be permanently displayed. I'm sure neither one needs another Bible, rosary or crucifix to add to their own collections.
