First night drumming.
Like the title says this is my first night drumming and this video is the last attempt of the night. I would love some thoughts and feedback.

So I've been interested in learning thumb independence recently. Though it's been a struggle. My thumb will freeze up when I go to play my fingers if I try to use it for rythm every now and then and throw me off. But I discovered a practice trick that seems to be helping pretty quickly.
The first thing is to get a metronome. You can just download an app that's what I did. I have it set to 60 bpm. Then the next I do is take my left hand out of the equation. I think my biggest problem was jumping in to quickly to trying to make it sound good when I should just focus on technique. Then just use the metronome and pick the e string on beat and the high e switching back and forth between on beat and off beat. Taking your time with the high e. If you got to wait 8 beat between picks then you have to wait 8 beats between picks. There's no reason to rush. You can speed up with practice. Eventually throw in some notes on the e and work your way down to the other strings.
But yeah just wanted to share that incase Any one else is struggling with it.
