I recently visited the Peak District (staying in Emley) a couple of weeks ago and picked up some insanely good coffees for such a small area! Both for my v60 brews. They have really impressed.
Firstly a Yemen ‘Fawaz Ali’ from Darkwoods, which is super delicate with plum, grape notes. Beautiful clean cup and has a rich mouthfeel.
They had a sort of open day event, cafe, spinning vinyls and staff were super knowledgeable. I’ve had their blends before in cafes but the producer range is where it’s at. I got to try a few samples too.
Secondly this Natural Colombian ‘Papayo’. Now this one is incredibly juicy, punchy tropical fruits. I wasn’t expecting this from such a small place. I found this in their little shop in Holmfirth. They served me it as a split shot and I had to get it. Interesting little spot, they have a menu of different espresso.
Gutted that I found out about ‘Drip’ coffee studio in Holmfirth after my visit was over. Hopefully I’ll visit there soon.
