Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a used MPC 2500 on eBay, 110v model. I’m currently using a bulky external step-down transformer/block to run it here in Europe, but it’s a total pain for my desk setup and I’d love to get rid of it.

The unit itself is in great condition, so I’m considering doing an internal modification. Before I open it up or start ordering parts, I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with this:

  • Internal Jumpers: Is the stock PSU in the 2500 actually universal? Does it have a jumper or switch on the board to toggle between 110v and 220v?
  • PSU Swap: If it's not universal, is it a straightforward "plug-and-play" swap to install a universal PSU (like the ones from MPCStuff)?
  • DIY vs. Pro: Is this something a local electronics tech can handle easily, or are there specific MPC-specific quirks I should warn them about?

I’d really appreciate any advice or "lessons learned" from anyone who has successfully converted their MPC to run directly on 220v. I want to make sure I don't fry the motherboard!

Thanks in advance!
