Just saw Shin Ohno’s winning clock for the FP Journe competition. The fact that he’s doing this level of micro-machining on a desktop mill in his apartment is actually insane.

I’m over here sweating bullets trying not to snap 0.2mm endmills on basic brass parts, and this guy is hitting 0.01mm tolerances on escapement wheels next to his bed. The surface finish on those gears is just... how?

I swear every action hero gets hit with a gun butt or a pipe, passes out for half the day, wakes up tied to a chair and just shakes it off with a mild headache.

But seriously, if you're actually out cold for hours just from getting smacked in the head, isn't your brain basically mush at that point? like aren't you either dead or severely brain damaged?

Is there even such a thing as a "clean knockout" where you just sleep it off and reboot, or is that 100% made up for tv?
