Hi everyone,

I’m a foreign‑trained lawyer (LL.M.) and I’ve failed the bar exam twice. I don’t live in the U.S., so each attempt costs me an enormous amount of money — exam fees, travel, accommodation, time off work, everything combined.

I now have no choice but to sit for the exam a third time, but I’m honestly struggling to figure out how to move forward. I would have really liked to work with a tutor, but unfortunately tutoring is far too expensive for me. I also looked into resources like Seperac outlines, which seem great, but again the cost is simply not something I can afford.

At this point, the financial pressure is just as heavy as the mental one, and I feel a bit stuck. If anyone has been in a similar situation — especially as an LL.M., non‑U.S. resident, or repeat taker — and could share affordable resources, alternative study strategies, or anything that genuinely helped them, I would be extremely grateful.

Even small recommendations or personal experiences would mean a lot. I just really need some guidance and support to figure out a realistic way forward.

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to read or respond.
