Hello! I’ve been lusting after a GR3 for a few months (maybe 6) and finally score one here in NZ for $900! It comes with a wee wrist strap, 3 batteries and a memory card (really stoked with the accessories already). I got an rx100 initially and found it a pain in the but - waiting for it to load up, the long ass lens. I just wanted something super quick and easy to shoot nice photos and that wasn’t it.

Just after a few hot tips from long term users.

I mainly got it for a trip to South America in June. I’m wondering what the best way to keep it low key is? Or do I not need to worry about that too much? I’ll be in Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

I have a side bag and a wrist strap, but I was thinking of maybe clipping it to my belt or my bag, on a longish strap. So it sits in my side bag with the strap always attached - long enough to pull it out - snap a pic and put it away again. Or maybe something else? Suggestions very welcome.

Also, any other hot tips? I won’t be doing anything super extensive like long videos or hundreds of photos so I’m not too worried about batteries. Maybe the thumb grip though? I have quite big hands. I had an RX100 mk1 before this and found it quite difficult to wield - it’s so freakin tiny and slippery.

Anyway, super excited. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out!
